[ABOUT THE GAME]

In Treasure Quest 3D: Gold Voyage you'll be playing as a pirate on a hunt for riches in a world overrun by Skeletons and their ships. Embark on an adventure and navigate through the treacherous seas to find and collect treasure! You'll be digging to find it. Just be careful of what you may be digging up... You may even find gold along the way! Spend your hard earned gold to buy upgrades to help you on your voyage. 

I wonder what else could be hiding in the treacherous seas of this world...

[REGARDING THE GDEVELOP 3D GAME JAM]

The Theme was Navigate. I've been enjoying pirate-themed content lately and felt inspired to make something in that theme. My interpretation of navigate for this game was to have the objective to be to find and dig up treasure. The compass should help you navigate towards it as you're sailing and traveling on islands. As for the 3D aspect of the game, it's mostly an aesthetic addition as the core gameplay would also work in 2D. Some may call this game 2.5D. However, the addition of 3D makes a BIG difference! Without it, the game would be significantly different. 

As an extra challenge, this game ONLY consists of sprites, text objects and the new 3D box object. This is because I did not want to spend most of my time learning 3D modeling and instead focus on making the game as fun and interesting as I could given my limitations. 

The development of this game was started on May 20th, 2023. Development finished on the final day of the 3D Game Jam on May 28th, 2023. I worked on the game full-time in-between those dates.

This is my first 3D game, my first game of this length and my first finished game in a LONG time. I've really started falling in love with GDevelop as an engine and will be using it for some future projects as well! I'm planning on making a devlog in the next coming weeks to talk about my experience in full. Stay tuned for that. I had a lot of fun making the game and I hope you'll enjoy it!
